T-Shape 2 aftercare: 7-day to-do list after your consultation

Serving Geneva, Batavia, South Elgin, West Chicago, Wayne, and Campton Hills
The most important rule after your T-Shape 2 | Consultation is simple: follow the written next-step plan I gave you, then lock in your treatment date while the assessment details are fresh. In my 60-minute, no-fee consult here in Geneva, I’m not guessing. I’m mapping out what makes sense for your goals, your timeline, and your comfort level. This 7-day checklist keeps your skin calm, helps you avoid last-minute surprises, and sets you up for the smoothest treatment day possible.
First 24 to 72 hours: keep the planned area boring (and that’s a good thing)
Right after your consultation, most aftercare is about not stirring things up. You’re preparing for a protocol, so I want your baseline skin to stay predictable.
Quick rule: For the next 48 to 72 hours, don’t start new topicals on the area we discussed. Keep your routine steady and gentle, and protect your skin from sun and heat.
Do this
- Keep using a mild cleanser and a simple moisturizer if those already work well for you.
- Use daily sunscreen on exposed areas. Even in Geneva, incidental sun adds up on errands and drives.
- Write down the questions you thought of after you left. People always remember the best questions later, and I’d rather answer them early than rush on treatment day.
Avoid this
- Tanning beds and intentional sun. If you’re planning a vacation, tell me now so I can plan around it.
- Intense heat exposure, like long hot baths or sauna sessions, especially if I advised you to keep things calm leading up to treatment.
- New active products, especially anything exfoliating or irritating. If you aren’t sure what counts, send me a quick list of what you’re using.
Days 3 to 7: the small “don’ts” that keep your plan on track
This is the week where people accidentally sabotage their own prep. It’s usually not dramatic. It’s a new product, a weekend of sun, or a decision to squeeze in an aggressive facial because it sounded like a good idea at the time.
Here’s what I want you focused on during days 3 through 7:
- Sun protection stays non-negotiable. Fall in Geneva tends to mean lower sun exposure, which is a big reason many people like scheduling treatments around that season. Still, sunscreen is your daily habit.
- Don’t add “one more thing” to your skin routine. I’d rather see calm, steady skin than skin that’s reacting to a new serum.
- Skip anything that causes irritation or peeling. If your skin feels tight, stings, or looks patchy, pause and message me. We’ll reset you back to gentle basics.
- Keep your notes and photos. Take a clear, makeup-free photo in the same lighting once this week. It helps you see changes over time and helps me make better decisions with you.
Scheduling tip for commuters: If you’re coming in around a Metra commute, I can usually help you find evening slots so this doesn’t turn into a whole-day project.
Topicals to pause between consult and treatment (and what to use instead)
Between the consultation and your T-Shape 2 treatment, I want your skin barrier calm. If you’re a “product person, ” this can feel annoying. It works, though. A predictable baseline gives me the cleanest read and helps you heal smoothly after treatment.
Pause anything new, especially if it’s active
If it’s new to you, put it on hold until after treatment unless I specifically okayed it. That includes strong exfoliants and anything that tends to tingle, peel, or dry you out.
Stick with “quiet” skincare
- Gentle cleanser: no scrubs, no aggressive brushes.
- Simple moisturizer: your skin should feel comfortable, not squeaky-clean or tight.
- Sunscreen: daily, and reapply if you’re outdoors for longer stretches.
If you’re not sure if a product is “quiet” or “active, ” send me the ingredient list or a photo of the label. I’ll tell you what to pause.
Booking your T-Shape 2 treatment in 1 to 2 weeks: why timing matters
I generally recommend confirming your T-Shape 2 treatment within 1 to 2 weeks of the consultation, unless I told you otherwise. That window helps you keep momentum and keeps your plan consistent with what we saw and discussed.
If you’re looking at your calendar and thinking, “I’m slammed, ” tell me what you’re working around. I’m used to scheduling for busy families and commuters, and I can often fit evening appointments. If you’re making a whole day of it, a lot of people plan around weekends in the Downtown St. Charles and Main Street area, like farmers market mornings or an Arcada Theatre show.
Medication and supplements check: Before your treatment date is finalized, tell me if you take blood thinners, NSAIDs, or supplements that can affect bruising or sensitivity. I’ll guide you on what, if anything, you should hold and for how long.
If something feels off, reach out. I’d rather talk early than fix late.
A consultation is education and planning, so you should leave feeling clear, not confused. I also know questions pop up after you’ve had time to think. Message me if you want to double-check a product, an event timeline, or anything you’re nervous about.

Please reach out right away if you notice unexpected pain, swelling, or anything that doesn’t feel right to you. Even if it ends up being nothing, I want you to feel supported.
Ready for the next step? If you’ve already had your consult, I’ll help you pick a treatment date that fits your schedule, then I’ll confirm what to pause, what to keep, and how to prep the day before.
